In order to use the Pittsburgh Plan with your child, you will need:
(i) a copy of Galileo Rising, by Richard T. McCoy, Ph.D. -- This short book by the Plan's founder lays out the philosophy of the Plan and provides detailed instructions on every aspect of the Plan; and
(ii) Appendix A, the worksheets used by the Plan.
How to Get Galileo Rising and Appendix A
We recommend that you get a copy of Galileo Risingby downloading it as follows:
Download a compressed Adobe .pdf file by clicking HERE -- the file should decompress automatically after it is downloaded to your computer and should be readable as an Adobe file (you will need Adobe Reader software, which is standard and can be obtained here in the unlikely event you do not already have it -- you may need to input your operating system information to obtain the proper version of Adobe Reader).
After printing, binding and shipping thousands of copies of Galileo Rising at our own expense, the Plan has exhausted the funding provided by our Founder (and we do not accept contributions). Thus, we strongly urge you to follow the above procedures to obtain Galileo Rising for free.
If for some reason you are unable to download Galileo Rising, please email us at coordinator@pittsburghplan.com and we will email a copy to you.
We will continue to provide bound copies for free in special needs cases that we find convincing -- please email us at coordinator@pittsburghplan.com to explain any such circumstances and ask for a free bound copy.
You can download Appendix A -- the Plan's worksheets -- in two formats:
(i) As a Word document, allowing you to revise and change the worksheets to fit your own child's needs -- click here: MICROSOFT WORD VERSION; or
(ii) As an Adobe .pdf file, which is prettier but cannot be edited (feel free to download in both formats, but recognize that the Plan pays a small fee for each download, so please download only as needed): click here: ADOBE .pdf VERSION
If for any reason you are having trouble downloading Appendix A, please email the Plan at coordinator@pittsburghplan.com and we will provide a copy by email.
